A multifunctional lamp for both home and camping.

Main challenge: Create a lamp that consumers will want to use both during camping and at home.
Subchallenges:
Design a lamp that meets various lighting applications and intensities.
Match the design with the clients chosen moodboard.
Ideation: The client specifically asked for a design that felt authentic yet chic, and they would really like it if the product contained some textile elements. So that's what I started to focus on for this project. I really tried to incorporate elements from the moodboard and other products with an authentic feeling to get the design right.
Concept: After ideation, I chose this design as the one that best matches the moodboard. This design has the following functions:
Atmospheric lighting as well as a spotlight
Controllable light intensity, both electronically and with different covers
Customizable
Easy to hang up
Concept to Final Design:
As this was a group project, we presented the client with one concept per person. Eventually, the client chose to continue with this design.
For optimization, we came up with the following list:
Reduce the number of parts
Create more covers
Make it less fragile in case of dropping the product
Final design:
For the end result we reduced the amount of production parts to keep investmentcosts low.
We also managed to create several different covers as a extra product that can be sold with the lamp.
